Failing Pump

Sputtering water indicates that air is getting into your system at one point or another. The first place we recommend checking is your water pump. Inspect the well pump for any cracks and listen for unusual noises that may allude to an underlying issue. Depending on the age of your pump, you may only require well pump repairs. However, an older pump may need replacement.

Crack In The System

If it’s not your pump allowing air to mingle with your water, there is usually a crack or fissure somewhere else along the lines. Since this can be in the pipes, you may not be able to inspect every part, but you should still look at the well casing and water tank. If there is a crack in the water tank, you will most likely find a leak to go along with it. Once it has been determined that there is a crack, it’s important to get water testing and treatment as any opening can allow for contamination of the water.

Low Water Level

If the system is functioning properly, there could be an issue with the water level itself. Typically, most wells can last up to 20 years, but depending on environmental factors, this estimation can be severely impacted. A water well technician will be able to check the level of the water in your well and recommend whether hydraulic fracking or new well drilling will be the best way to proceed.
